School-Age (K-5)

Academic and Enrichment Program

The Community Learning Centers of Wood County Educational Service Center provide quality enrichment and extended learning activities for elementary children - grades Kindergarten through Fifth.  Our daily Before-schoolAfter-school, and Summer STARS program meets the care and supervision needs of parents during out-of-school hours while engaging children in fun learning experiences that complement their school-day instruction.

Activities include Challenge Centers where children engage in sequenced, progressive activities designed to build increased understanding, skills, and accomplishments in eight content areas:

  Cultural Studies / Global Learning

   Health & Safety
    Math / Problem Solving
     Motor Skills
      Reading / Writing

         Service Projects/Learning & Character Building

Before-school STARS hours are from 6:30 a.m. until school begins at eight locations:
BG-Conneaut, BG-Crim, BG-Kenwood, Eastwood, Elmwood, Northwood, Rossford, and Woodmore.

After-school STARS hours are from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. every day school is in session at all eleven locations -- BG-Conneaut, BG-Crim, BG-Kenwood, EW-Luckey, EW-Pemberville, Elmwood, Genoa, North Baltimore, Northwood, Rossford, and Woodmore.

Summer STARS hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, through the entire summer!

A generous sliding-fee/scholarship schedule and sibling discounts are used to make the program very affordable for ALL families.
